Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what FIX UP collects, why we collect it, and how you can control your data. It applies to the FIX UP website, the mobile apps, and any related services.
1. What we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number, role (customer / provider / supplier), and a hashed password.
- Profile data — for providers: the services you offer, the area you cover (latitude/longitude/radius), and your verification status.
- Booking data — service requested, scheduled date/time, description, location (when shared), price, payment status.
- Waitlist data — name, email, phone, intended role, and phone type (iPhone or Android) for everyone who signs up before launch.
- Device & usage — IP address, device type, app version, and basic interaction events so we can improve the product.
2. How we use it
- To match customers with eligible providers.
- To process bookings, payments, and refunds.
- To verify providers before they can take jobs.
- To send transactional messages (booking confirmations, password resets) and — where you've opted in — product updates.
- To detect fraud, abuse, and safety incidents.
3. Privacy guarantees built into the product
- A customer's exact address and phone number are hidden from providers until the customer claims the booking with a six-digit acceptance code (or the provider wins the first-to-accept race).
- The same holds in reverse: a provider's phone is hidden from the customer until the same point.
- Provider-facing booking lists deliberately exclude party PII and exact coordinates.
4. Who we share data with
- The other party in a booking, only after the location is unlocked.
- Service sub-processors we rely on (email delivery, hosting, payment processing). These are contractually bound to keep your data confidential and to use it only to provide the service we asked for.
- Authorities, if compelled by valid legal process.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Where data is stored
Our primary database is hosted in a managed PostgreSQL service. Backups are encrypted at rest. We retain account data for as long as your account is active, plus a short window after deletion to handle any outstanding obligations.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time.

7. Cookies & analytics
The marketing website uses minimal first-party cookies to remember your theme preference. We don't currently run third-party trackers. If that changes, this page will say so and we'll surface a cookie banner.
8. Children
FIX UP isn't intended for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has signed up, please email privacy@fixit.test and we'll remove the account.
9. Changes to this Policy
We'll post material changes here with a new "Last updated" date. For account-related users, we'll also notify you in-app or by email.
